AGNC Cumulative Effects StudyThe socioeconomic conditions of northwest Colorado
are unique: unlike the rest of the U.S., the housing
market is experiencing a strong upward surge and
workers at all levels are in high demand. Energy
development activities are clearly a driving force
behind the growth experienced in the region, but the
economy is diverse and complex. With assistance from
the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, the
Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado (AGNC)
have undertaken a study of the socioeconomic
conditions of the region, including member counties,
Moffat, Rio Blanco, Routt, Garfield and Mesa, as well
as Delta. The study is being conducted by BBC Research
& Consulting, of Denver, under the direction of
a Task Force that is
composed of representatives of each of the counties
that comprise AGNC as well as Rangely, Rifle, Meeker,
Grand Junction, and the state Departments of Local
Affairs, Public Health and Environment, and Natural
Resources. Steps in the process
